Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has expressed shock over the death of Dr. Mahmoud Muhammad Ndatsu, a retired Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Consultant Surgeon with the General Hospital, Minna.
In a condolence message by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described Dr Ndatsu’s passing as a monumental loss to the state, given his impact on the lives of many, especially in the education and health sectors.
He extended his deepest condolences to the immediate and extended family of the deceased, as well as the Ministries of Health and Education, over the significant loss.
The governor acknowledged that while death is painful and sorrowful, it remains an inevitable end for every human being. He urged the bereaved to take solace in Allah, knowing that Dr. Ndatsu lived a good and impactful life.
Governor Bago prayed that Aljanna Firdausi would be the final abode of Dr. Mahmoud Muhammad Ndatsu and asked Allah to comfort all those affected by his demise.
The late consultant surgeon and his friends were said to have distributed gifts to patients at the General Hospital, Minna, as part of activities marking their 40th anniversary of friendship. He later participated in a football match, where he collapsed and died.
