A legal practitioner, Barrister Tiamiyu Sule Adegboyega Omoloye, and 11 others are currently jostling for the vacant Obaship stool of Eko-Ende, a community in Ifelodun North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in Osun State.
The stool became vacant on Sunday, March 23, this year (2023), when the last occupant, the late Oba Rauf Olaniyan Ajiboye from Olaigbo Ruling House, joined his ancestors.
Before Oba Olaniyan Ajiboye was Oba Raji Oladosu who was from the Eesaorun section of the Ayedun Ruling house.
Ayedun Ruling House has three Sections; Obatiwajoye, Aromawe and Eesaorun and with the departure of the last king from Olaigbo Ruling House, the other two remaining sections of the ruling house – Obatiwajoye and Aromaye are expected to produce the next successor.
A family meeting held on October 11, 2023 under the supervision of officials from the LCDA revealed that 12 candidates were confirmed to have collected forms having been duly nominated by stakeholders from the ruling house.
Among the candidates is an Osogbo- based legal practitioner, Prince Tiamiyu Sule Adegboyega Omoloye from Obatiwajoye section of Ayedun Royal Ruling Houe. He holds Masters Degree in Law from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ife, Osun State.
