One of the ways to solve the seemingly intractable security challenges in Nigeria is to deploy amicable resolution mechanisms. This means is without recourse to the efforts of government security agencies.
Making this known in Ibadan, Oyo State was Mr Hammed Folorunso Tolulope, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
“Our area is one of the places where insecurity is endemic. This, I can say, has been a result of the many years of neglect, unemployment and other social vices. Being a lawmaker will afford me the opportunity of liaising with relevant agencies to look for ways to resolve these crises. Nobody is happy with what is happening. One of the ways is to deploy amicable resolution mechanisms,” he added.
Speaking during a chat with reporters in Ibadan, he emphasised that the need to solve the security problems and other issues in his domain and Oyo State in its entirety was his motivation to represent his constituency in Oyo State House of Assembly, in the next election.
Tolulope further added, “Apart from this, I have the intention of empowering women, youths and the widows. Our area has never been as bad as this. There are certain methods we will use apart from governmental agencies, my connection over the years would also be deployed. I have friends who can support me.”
“The area needs more capable hands to develop. I can say I am comfortable and I stay in my comfort zone. But that is not it. I am just going back home to rescue my people. Hold me by my words,” he asserted.
According to him, “his party holds the magic wand to change the fortune of the people, adding that he does not have to leave the party because the party lost the 2019 governorship election.”
