An International NGO, Cooperative Assistance for Relief Everywhere (CARE) has commenced a 4-day training for staff of Agricultural Development Programmes in four northern States.
The training is under the Catalysing Strengthened Policy Action for Healthy Diets and Resilience (CASCADE) in collaboration with the Agriculture Development Programme (ADP) in Bauchi, Jigawa, Kebbi and Nasarawa.
It is a training of Trainers on CARE’s Farmers Field and Business School (FFBS) approach held at the Conference Hall of SULGAD Majestic Hotel, Bauchi.
The Training objective is to strengthen the capacity of CARE Benin and its partner staff on the FFBS Approach to ensure its fidelity in implementation, demonstrate its gains and take it to scale through SFtW and Cargill projects.
The training will meet the following specific objectives: familiarize participants with the FFBS toolkit and how to adapt and use the tools; Equip the project/program and partners staff with skills to effectively implement different components of FFBS and Toolkit.
It is to also support participants to develop a process using the cropping
cycle to implement FFBS with savings and producer groups, livestock and other types of value chain groups and Build facilitation skills, community engagement and group empowerment skills for CARE and partner staff for the successful delivery of FFBS with farmer groups.
The training will also enable participants to adapt FFBS for nutrition outcomes through livelihoods programming.
