Ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State, an aspirant and leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Kayode Adaramodu has called on all aggrieved leaders of the party to sheath their sword and embrace peace ahead of the poll.
Adaramodu who stated this during his tour of the local government areas in the state noted that the party stand a chance of defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress when leaders across the divides coalesce efforts in the interest of the party.
The former GM of GTBank, who was met by enthusiastic party members promised to meet with the aspirations of the people when given the chance to rule the state.
“I have come to plead with us to bury our grievances for the sake of this party and our people who are suffering under the administration of APC. We must unite to return to power for proper governance of this state,” Adaramodu said.
According to him, competent, energetic and vibrant young individual should be given the opportunity to lead the state from 2022.
He said, “As you are all aware, I have offered myself to provide the leadership that our state deserves to meet the demands of the rapidly changing world from next year. Let us, as united people, mobilise and ensure we secure the future of our dear Ekiti state from people with selfish agenda.”
Some local government areas visited were ; Ise/Orun, Emure, Ijero, Moba, Ilejemeje, Ido Osi and Ekiti West council areas.
Speaking, the PDP chairman in Ijero local government, Oluwole Olayinka thanked Adaramodu and his team for the visit, assuring them that the seeming infighting within the party will soon be resolved.
