A Magistrates Court, sitting in Osogbo, capital of Osun State, on Tuesday remanded four persons in Ilesa prison custody over alleged armed robbery.
The accused include: Ojo Ayobami, 21, Isaac Awe, 18, Rotimi Adedeji, 39, and Segun Adelabi, 26.
They were arraigned on a 6-count charge, bothering on conspiracy, armed robbery and attempted murder.
Presiding Magistrate Olubukola Awodele ordered that the accused be kept in prison custody, considering the magnitude of the offense committed.
Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun had informed the court that the accused committed the offense on April 18, 2017 at about 9:30pm at a Corpers Lodge, located in Dada Estate of Osogbo.
He explained that the accused persons conspired together to rob one Taiwo Uthman of his Toyota car with registration number APP 780 DB and some valuables, including ATM cards, wallet, and phone, adding that the accused were armed with guns and dangerous weapons during the operation.
Olusegun also added that the accused also attempted to kill one Adekanmi Uthman by stabbing him with a bottle on his head during the operation.
He further contended that the offence committed contravened sections 1(1)(2), 3(1) of the robbery and fire arms special provision Act Cap 11 vol.14 ,laws of the Federation of Nigeria ,2004 and contrary to sections 27(1)(b)(11) and 320(1) of the criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun, 2002.
Though the pleas of the accused were not taken, the case was subsequently adjourned to November 24, 2017 for mention.
