The occasion marked the unveiling of the latest addition to their single malt whisky collection, the Double Cask 30 Years Old. The opulent Tar Tar in Abuja played host to this extraordinary event, offering exclusive access to an up-close view and tasting of the Double Cask 30 Years Old.
Attended by Nigeria’s business elites and popular personalities, including Business Partner, Paper Hospitality, Adegbe Ogbeh; Founder Africana Couture Nigeria, Charles Oronsaye; Edoro Abebe, Group CEO, The Vanilla Group; CEO, Zod International, Samer Zod and more, the evening exuded an aura of opulence and camaraderie as guests immersed themselves in a rare and memorable tasting experience of the distinctive single malt whisky.Â
Having undergone maturation in a unique combination of European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks, the Double Cask 30 Years Old showcased a profound complexity that can only be achieved through a patient ageing process spanning three decades.Â
Boasting a natural golden acorn hue, this ultra-premium whisky showcased a unique medley of aromas, featuring notes reminiscent of fresh honeycomb, sweet toffee, and ripe red apple. Its impeccably smooth and velvety flavour fusion, enhanced by subtle hints of cinnamon, ginger, and the exquisite allure of Madagascan vanilla, harmoniously complemented the overall tasting experience, tantalising guests with every sip.
The high-end event marked the second occasion within a week that Nigerian whisky enthusiasts had the privilege of immersing themselves in the world of The Macallan’s exceptional offerings. Just last week, whisky lovers were treated to a similar once-in-a-lifetime experience with the unveiling of the time-honoured Sherry Oak 25 Years Old and 30 Years Old in Lagos.
The Double Cask 30 Years Old joins an esteemed category of The Macallan’s ultra-premium whiskies introduced to whisky lovers in Nigeria, including the M Collection, Harmony Collection Inspired by Intense Arabica, and Sherry Oak 25 Years Old and 30 Years Old. Its distinctive flavour profile was creatively showcased by acclaimed American artist and photographer Erik Madigan Heck in a collaboration that reflects The Macallan’s dedication to excellent artistry and craftsmanship.
