The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Victor Umeh, has sponsored the wedding ceremony of his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Engr. Charles Ifeanyi Obi.
The wedding between Engr. Obi and his bride, Nurse Ijeoma Chioma Ezenwamma, was held on Easter Monday, April 21st, 2025, at Trig-Point Hotel, Nibo, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The church service took place at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Amawbia, and was officiated by the Catholic Archbishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye.
In his homily, Archbishop Okoye advised the couple to avoid third-party interference in their marriage and to remain united in love and understanding.
Speaking at the reception, Senator Umeh stated that the gesture was aimed at supporting his media aide in building a stable home, which in turn would enable him to focus better on his professional duties. He appreciated the families of the couple for their consent and encouraged the newlyweds to make mutual understanding their guiding principle.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, and the President General of the Adazi-Nukwu community, Chief Engr. Cyril Anieto, prayed for divine wisdom for the couple to navigate the challenges of marriage.
In his remarks, the groom, Engr. Obi, expressed deep gratitude to Senator Umeh for his benevolence, describing it as an unforgettable gesture that would be cherished by generations. He also commended the Anambra State Government for ensuring a peaceful and conducive environment for the celebration.
The event was chaired by the Chief Executive Officer of Green Gardens Estates Ltd, Abuja, Sir Benito Mac Ozigbo, and attended by notable dignitaries including former Governor Peter Obi, Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, the traditional ruler of Umueri community Igwe Ben Emeka, and the traditional ruler of Alor Kingdom, Igwe Mac-Anthony Okonkwo, among other prominent guests, Labour Party, and APGA supporters.
