Whether black or white, pink or red, the basic t-shirt is an essential part of anyone’s wardrobe, man or woman. Their versatility and affordability makes them easy to pull off in countless ways for almost any situation.
You can start with basic colours such as white, grey and black and you will be able to pair them with anything from jackets to skirts to blazer. Once you have nailed that, then you can start playing around with prints, patterns and materials.
With a bold blazer: Keep all the attention on your colourful blazer by wearing a simple white tee underneath. Want to make it even trendier? A pair of thick-soled sneakers will do the trick.
As a dress: To rock your plain t-shirt as a dress, purchase one in a larger size or even a men’s size to make the hemline longer or opt for one that is specifically designed to be a dress. Give the t-shirt dress a try with fishnet tights and boots or pair with flat sneakers and you are good to go.
With overalls: A pair of overalls on a basic t-shirt gives you a stylish look. You will add a perfect balance of playful to it if you accessorise with sporty kicks, a sleek cross body, jewelry and sunglasses.
With a fitted skirt: Knotting your t-shirt in the middle will transform your whole look. When worn with a form-fitting skirt with a slit, boots, belt bag and sunglasses, you will a totally sexy, retro ensemble going on.
With jeans: Jeans and a plain tee is a combo many have come to rely on heavily. From a killer pair of shoes or sneakers to eye-catching accessories like crystal earrings or caps, you can elevate your look from something ordinary to brilliant in few seconds.
Ladies can also choose to tuck the t-shirt in a pair of high-waisted jeans. The jeans could be skinny, wide-legged or even flared.
With pantsuit: Pairing a t-shirt with dress pants has perhaps the highest degree of difficulty. The issue here is that you are not covering up the t-shirt with a jacket, which means you are leaving your entire t-shirted upper body exposed. To pull this off, make sure you have some degree of fitness and consider how specifically the t-shirt fits. Choose a t-shirt that is moderately fit. Avoid an overly baggy one.
With shorts: Whether tucked in or out, pairing your t-shirt with shorts is that perfect outfit you need during a warm weather.
