My wife’s severe vomitting

My wife who is just two months pregnant has not been eating well for some time. Her vomiting which initially was mild has now increased. Although I am aware that some pregnant women do vomit, her own is becoming very serious. Your kind assistance will be appreciated.

Vomiting in pregnancy (sometimes called morning sickness) is common. Around 8 out of every 10 pregnant women sometimes feel nauseated or actually do vomit during pregnancy. For most women, this improves or stops completely by around weeks 16 to 20. However, just as in your wife’s case, some pregnant women experience very bad nausea and vomiting. They might be sick many times a day and be unable to keep food or drink down thus affecting their daily life. Simple solutions such as eating small frequent meals, the avoidance of peppery and caustic food items among other home remedies usually work. This excessive nausea and vomiting (Hyperemesis Gravidarum) may need urgent medical attention if it does not improve after a few days.
