Kano deputy gov flags off Ramadan feeding programme

Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has officially launched the 2025 Ramadan Feeding Programme, aimed at providing daily iftar meals to 91,000 vulnerable residents across the state for 27 days.

The ceremony took place at Dandali Centre in Fagge Local Government Area, with Gwarzo expressing satisfaction with the smooth takeoff of the initiative. He urged catering companies involved to ensure timely and efficient delivery of meals to all feeding centers.

The programme is a humanitarian effort aimed at easing the difficulties faced by fasting Muslims. The state government has approved the initiative, with 91 designated feeding centers across the state. Catering service providers have been engaged to prepare and deliver 91,000 plates of food per day.

Gwarzo, who chairs the programme, was accompanied by top government officials, including the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, and the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Tijjani Auwal.
