KANO State House of Assembly has withdrawn the investigation of eight-count charge against the Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi 11.
The House took the decision following a letter of appeal sent to it by the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Speaker of the House, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, read the letter on the floor of the house on Monday.
According him, notable personalities that waded into the issue included acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar; Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Aminu Dantata.
Ganduje’s letter noted that the emir had personally apologised for his mistakes during a reconciliation forum organised by the Northern Governors’ Forum in Kaduna.
