The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has issued ultimatum to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority to fulfill the payment of bridging claims amounting to N100 billion.
The association gave a seven-day to the body and threatened to withdraw services if the payment is not made before the deadline.
The claims, originating in 2024, were deducted from marketers’ payments for products to settle bridging allowances.
This action follows the NMDPRA’s failure to settle the debt, despite promises made 40 days ago in the presence of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
If the issue remains unresolved, it could lead to a nationwide scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit.
Yahaya Alhasan, the Chairman of the IPMAN Depot Chairmen Forum, made this announcement during a press conference in Abuja on Monday and expressed frustration over the NMDPRA’s failure to address the bridging claims, despite repeated assurances.
