An interim agreement between the United States (US) and Iran would extend the ceasefire, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and pave the way for talks on Iran’s nuclear programme, a diplomatic source told CNN.
According to the source, the two sides reached an agreement on the text of the memorandum of understanding, but it has yet to be signed.
President Donald Trump called Tehran “dishonourable” for allegedly inaccurate descriptions of the proposal in Iranian state media outlets.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials have yet to confirm any agreements.
According to sources, a signing ceremony will most likely take place in Geneva, Switzerland, and could begin as early as Sunday.
CNN, however, reports that US military and security personnel are planning another round of peace talks this weekend in the hopes of reaching an agreement.
