I am a 24 -year old- first time mother. I have been breastfeeding my baby since she was born 6 months ago. I will soon be resuming work and I am wondering how to cope with breastfeeding. Kindly advise me.

The World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding (i.e. no other fluids or solids) for six months and then continued breastfeeding combined with solid foods for 2 years or as long as mother and baby desire. In view of your job, you may arrange to put your baby in a creche near to your place of work where you can visit intermittently to breastfeed her. Some mothers however like to express their breast milk into feeding bottles which can be given to their babies by their maids or some relatives in the mother’s absence.
