I want to appeal to the Ogun State government and, by extension, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, (IBEDC), to come to our aid in Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu-North Local Government Area of the state, over instability of electricity supply in the area.
Regular power outage has become a major source of concern in the area, as residents in Ijebu-Igbo community express their grief on a daily basis, concerning the transitory electricity meant to preserve their perishable goods.
Students of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic cry out on daily basis over the irregular power outrage in the area. It has really affected students in their daily endeavour, most especially, on their academic activities.
It has been over a year now that electricity supply has been fluctuating on a daily basis in the area and failure to develop coherent electricity distribution strategy may result in immense abatement of frozen foods in the area. This is devastating, as petty traders need regular electricity supply to operate and students too, for their academic activities.
I, therefore, appeal to the state government and IBEDC to take immediate action on this issue and provide a long-lasting solution to electricity problem in the area.
