COVID-19: We will sustain zero cases in Kirfi, caretaker chairman assures

In line with the directive of the Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, newly appointed Caretaker Committee Chairman of Kirfi Local Government Area, Alhaji Garba Musa has declared his resolve to sustain the current zero situation of the pandemic in the area.

Garba Musa made the declaration on Tuesday at the official handing over of the affairs of the Local Government to him saying that despite the increase in the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state, the local government is yet to record any case of the virus.

He also said that in order to sustain the development, the Council will engage critical stakeholders in order to ensure people of the area adhere strictly to the protocols against infection with the disease.

The Caretaker Chairman said, ” I am highly delighted to address you today as your Caretaker Chairman, I appreciate you all for your support and cooperation to me. I want to assure you that we will work together for not only my success, but the success of the administration of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Kauran Bauchi.”

Garba Musa applauded the steps taken by the government to tackle the further spread of the virus across the state and pledged their support to achieve the set objectives and solicited for renew support and cooperation from all and sundry to his administration for the rapid development of the area.

On some of the issues identified as the basic challenges facing citizens of the area, he assured for immediate action so as to alleviate their sufferings saying, ” With your prayers and constructive criticism, Insha Allah we will justify the confidence reposed on us.”

The Deputy Chairman of the Council, Suleiman Adamu Cheledi who handed over the Affairs of the Local Government to the newly appointed Caretaker Chairman, assured him of the total support of both management and staff of the council to enable him to succeed.

Traditional and Religious leaders who spoke at the handing over ceremony congratulated the new Caretaker Chairman for his well-deserved appointment.
