The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has unveiled a step-by-step guide for candidates participating in the next phase of its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, with portal access scheduled to begin from June 15 to June 20, 2026.
Tribune Online reports that the board on Saturday directed applicants who sat for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted in November 2025 to visit its official recruitment portal within the specified period to verify their application status and determine whether they have been shortlisted for the physical screening and document verification stage.
The physical examination exercise is scheduled to commence on June 22, 2026.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the Board, A. M. Jibril, shortlisted candidates will be required to upload relevant documents, select their preferred examination date and venue, and print their examination slips before attending the screening exercise.
In this article, Tribune Online presents a step-by-step guide to the recruitment exercise.
Step 1: Portal Access (Visit the recruitment portal) — 15-20 June 2026
Candidates are required to visit the recruitment portal and enter the application number generated during their initial registration to verify their status.
Applicants are advised to use only the official recruitment portal and ensure that the application number used is accurate.
Step 2: Shortlisting (Shortlist verification) — Portal period
The system will automatically verify each application number submitted by candidates.
Applicants who are successfully shortlisted will proceed to the document upload stage, while those not shortlisted will not advance beyond this point.
Candidates have also been cautioned against sharing their application numbers with third parties.
Step 3: Document Upload and Scheduling (Upload documents and select physical examination date) — 15-20 June 2026
Shortlisted applicants are expected to upload all required supporting documents through the portal.
Candidates will also be required to select their preferred examination date and the nearest available venue before confirming their submissions.
The board warned that available venue slots are limited and advised candidates to make their selections promptly.
Step 4: Examination Slip (Download and print your slip) — Immediately after submission
After completing the submission process, candidates are expected to download and print their examination slips.
Applicants have been advised to print at least two copies and carefully verify details such as their names, examination dates, venues and candidate numbers.
The board noted that the examination slip serves as the official entry pass for the screening exercise and should be kept safely.
Step 5: Physical Examination (Attend physical examination) — Commencing 22 June 2026
Candidates are expected to report to their selected examination venues with only their printed slips.
Applicants have been instructed to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled time and dress appropriately for the physical fitness assessment.
The board warned that late arrivals could be denied entry.
Step 6: Phase 1 Results (Check results and proceed) — Date to be announced
The results of the exercise will be published on the official recruitment portal.
Candidates who successfully scale through the stage will proceed to Phase 2, which consists of fitness and oral examinations.
Applicants have been advised to monitor official CDCFIB communication channels for updates on the release of results and other announcements.
The board further reminded candidates that the recruitment process is free of charge and warned them against dealing with individuals or agents claiming to offer assistance with shortlisting or recruitment.
It also advised applicants to select examination venues within their locations, noting that available slots are limited and cannot be transferred.
