The students and staff of Alpha Rehoboth primary and secondary schools in Egbeda, Lagos, rolled the drum out on Friday, May 25, 2024, to celebrate Children’s Day amidst pomp and pageantry.
Speaking during the event with the theme: “The importance of children in Family and nation’s building’, the headteacher of the school, Mr Akinwumi Samuel, described the role of children as vital contributors to family and national development.
In addition, he reiterated that children add variety and glamour to the environment where they are, as their presence eliminates boredom in homes and anywhere they find them.
The school celebrated in grand style as they lined up various activities to the delight of the students and guests.

The celebration, which took place at the school premises, started with prayer sections as some staff took turns praying for God’s protection, wisdom, and sound health for the children.
According to the goodwill message from the director and proprietress of the school, Dr. R.A. Monehin, “As the world celebrates World Children’s Day, our school joined the rest of the world in the celebration.
“As a special school, we seize every opportunity to celebrate our children and engage them in lots of activities that will help their development processes.
“Children are a blessing to the world, a delight to the parents and everyone around them; they are one of the major ingredients that give life meaning, and today, I’m glad to celebrate every child around the world and those around me on this special day of theirs.”.
Some of the activities at the occasion included games, poems, songs, and dancing competitions.
