The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Ambassador Dare Bejide, has expressed confidence in its chances ahead of the June 20 governorship election, urging electoral and security agencies to ensure a free, fair and credible poll.
The Director of Communications, Media and Publicity of the campaign organisation, Gboyega Aribisogan, in an interview with Nigerian Tribune, said the party was optimistic of victory based on what he described as the widespread acceptance of its candidate across the state.
Aribisogan noted that the ADC had conducted an extensive grassroots campaign, engaging residents in communities across the 16 local government areas and presenting its vision for the development of Ekiti State.
According to him, Ambassador Bejide remains a credible and experienced politician whose track record in public service and commitment to the welfare of the people have continued to attract support from various segments of the electorate.

He said the campaign had focused on issues affecting residents, including economic development, job creation, education, healthcare and infrastructure, while assuring voters that the party was prepared to provide purposeful leadership if elected.
The campaign spokesman stressed the importance of a transparent electoral process, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to remain impartial and create an environment that would enable voters to freely exercise their democratic rights.
“We have confidence in the people of Ekiti State and in the democratic process. What we seek is a level playing field where every vote will count and the wishes of the electorate will be respected,” he said.
The party spokesman added that the ADC had trained its party agents and mobilised supporters across polling units in readiness for the election, expressing confidence that the party’s structure would effectively protect its interests during the exercise.
He called on residents who had collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to come out en masse on election day and participate peacefully in the electoral process.
The campaign organisation also urged stakeholders, including political parties, civil society groups and security agencies; to work together to ensure a peaceful election that would further strengthen democracy in the state.
Aribisogan maintained that the ADC was running an issue-based campaign centred on the needs and aspirations of the people, adding that the party remained committed to democratic principles and peaceful engagement throughout the electioneering period.
He expressed optimism that Ekiti voters would make their choices based on competence, character and vision, saying the ADC and its candidate were fully prepared for the contest and confident of securing a favourable outcome at the polls.
