The Kano State Fire Service said 20 people have lost their lives, while properties worth N39million destroyed in a fire outbreak that occurred within the state in the month of March 2021.
According to a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, a copy made available on Friday to pressmen in Kano, however, disclosed that fire destroyed properties worth N11.3 million in February.
He, however, added that the State Fire Service under the period in review has rescued 122 lives from fire incident in the state.
Abdullahi further stated in the statement that fire has destroyed properties worth over N39.6 Million explaining that Fire Service in Kano saved properties worth N81.3 million.
According to him, in the month of March, the service recieved 116 fire calls from different parts of the state.
He also disclosed that the service recieved 88 rescue calls within the period in review, explaining that a total of 22 false alarms were recorded in the month of March.
He then urged residents of the state to handle fire with care to avoid inferno.
