A brand is more than just a name or a logo. It is a recognizable emotion evoked by a company, a product, or a personality. The startup branding agency creates the right image and communication through which people will perceive the brand. In this article we will have a brief look at branding and why you need it.

What is a brand?

A brand is a particular concentration and essence of a product’s ideas and values. A brand does not exist in itself; it always appears for a specific purpose when there is competition. It helps a company tell its story in the context of other brands. Among a wide variety of products, a person receives a specific message through a brand.

If we imagine that there is only one type of shoe being sold, then there is no need for branding because there is no competition. And when there are several pairs of shoes from different manufacturers, buyers need to know which pair suits them best. Comfortable and beautiful – for everyday use, practical and reliable – for hiking in the forest or mountains. And the brand must communicate this idea to the consumer.

A brand has two important components.

  1. Background information about the product (what is it?)
  2. Fundamental values (what is your brand about? what it can give the consumers?)

Every brand embodies certain principles that guide its creator. We don’t just buy the product, we also buy the values behind it. Sometimes a brand becomes a value in itself – this often happens in the fashion world. All clothes have roughly the same function, and it’s the brand’s representation of luxury that is of value to the customer.

What is branding?

Branding is the process of creating a brand and managing it. Every brand wants to be perceived exactly as it should be. Even if you don’t brand your product, the consumer already has a certain impression of it. Branding is about creating fair and accurate communication about what your brand is, maintaining or changing it.

Over time, the same external attributes, words, and graphics begin to be perceived differently, because the context is important. If a brand, for example, positions itself as an innovator, it is important to support this with some communication. What was considered innovative and modern five years ago is perceived radically differently today.

By the way, often what is called rebranding refers to restyling. In these cases, brands change their style a bit to be themselves. While rebranding is a fundamental change in brand positioning, needs, and strategies.

What is branding consist of?

  • Strategy. It includes working on understanding the brand and its meaning. It is important to figure out what we want to say to people and what values to convey to them.
  • Visuals. This includes the entire identity, logo as well as non-verbal communications. External attributes are the main constants of the brand.
  • Regular communication. These are advertising campaigns, SMM, and other communications that convey a single idea to people. Daily tactical actions embody the brand ideology. The task of the brand manager in the company is to monitor and manage this image.

To have high-quality branding for your startup we recommend you get in touch with a professional startup branding agency. Because the team of professionals will help you to create your branding strategy from a to z.
