Three suspects arrested over clash in Ifewara community

No fewer than three persons have been arrested by the Police in connection with the clash between some illegal miners and youths of Ifewara community of Atakumosa West local government area of Osun State.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Folasade Odoro made this disclosure during a chat with journalists in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Though she did not disclose the identities of the arrested suspects, she said normalcy had been restored in the town.

While maintaining that the Police was still carrying out a thorough investigation into the incident, Odoro affirmed that the security agency would not hesitate to deal ruthlessly with anybody who tries to foment trouble in Ifewara.

It would be recalled that pandemonium broke out on Tuesday evening when illegal miners clashed with the youth of the community.

Houses and other valuable properties were burnt while the violent clash lasted.
