FIVE miscreants, popularly known as ‘Omotaku,’ have been arrested in Abule Egba, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) and other parts of Lagos by the state police command.

The suspects were early Tuesday arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental Sanitation and Other Related Offences.

Spokesperson for the agency, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, confirmed the arrest in a statement.

Gbadeyan said: “Operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce have arrested notorious street urchins popularly known as ‘Omotaku,’ along Aboru, Abule-Egba-Abeokuta expressway, TBS and other areas in the state.

“The five of them were arrested today [Tuesday] following a tipoff through the agency’s hotlines.”

Speaking on the incident, chairman of the agency, CSP Adetayo Akerele, disclosed that he had been on the trail of the hoodlums for a long time, following complaints by members of the public about their activities of the suspects around Abule-Egba axis.
