The traditional ruler of Isiagu Community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Augustine Nwankwo, has commended his people for voting Professor Chukwuma Soludo in the just concluded November 6, 2021 governorship election in the state.
He told his people that their decision to elect the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor was a choice in a right direction.
He noted that he personally ordered the people of Isiagu community to vote for Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) because he remains the only person that can consolidate on the legacy of the present administration of governor Willie Obiano, whose tenure expires March 17, 2022.
The traditional ruler while speaking to journalists at his palace on Wednesday, shortly after distributing food items to the needy and vulnerable people to mark his first Ofala festival celebrating 11 years on the throne.
He said, “I personally order my people to vote for Soludo because of his long time experience on Nigeria economic situation.
“And I think he has the experience, the courage and the boldness to manage human and material resources very well.”
The traditional ruler further assured that Soludo will maintain the already existing policies of Willie Obiano, especially, the constant payment of workers salaries as at when due, all inclusive administration, the operational international passengers/cargo airport, International Conference Centre and Awka City Stadium.
On the food items, the monarch said the gesture was to support the efforts of the federal and state governments towards cushioning the effect of hardship in the country.
“I am a grassroots man and anytime my people are mourning, I mourn with them and whenever they are celebrating, I celebrate with them.” he said.
