The Deputy Governor stated this during the Inauguration of the State PDP Main Contact and Mobilisation Committee at the Presidential Lodge Sokoto, on Sunday December the 9th.
Hon. Dan’iya added that the people of Sokoto State are known to be peaceful and law-abiding and would remain so before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
He warned that PDP in Sokoto would not fold its arms and allow some politicians claiming Federal Government backing to continue to harass and intimidate its supporters just to create fear in them for political advantage.
“As we remain law abiding citizens of the nation, any form of Intimidation and harassment in the name of politics using elements in Federal Government agencies will be resisted as the Nigerian Law enshrines.
“We call on all our PDP Supporters in Sokoto to remain calm as all legal options are being pursued to see the to the release of PDP members that were unlawfully arrested.”
He described Governor Tambuwal, as a leader who always enjoins peaceful resolution of all matters under the law rather than confrontation, and has asked the PDP in Sokoto to use any means within the confines of the Law to safeguard the integrity and wellbeing of its members in the State.
The deputy Governor further called on all the people in the State to rally round the Sokoto State Government in its efforts to maintain peace and tranquillity in order to safeguard their children from politicians who are hell bent on using them as political thugs as general election draw nearer.
The State PDP Main Contact and Mobilisation Committee Chairman Alh Dr Ummarun Kwabo A.A and the Deputy Governor Hon. Maniru Muhammad Dan’iya (Sardaunan Kware) later inaugurated a three-man Contact and Mobilisation Committee for each of the three senatorial zones in the state which include, The Deputy Governor Hon Maniru Muhammad Dan’iya for Sokoto Central, Commissioner of works Alh. Usman Sulaiman (Dan Madamin Isa) is for the Eastern Zone, and Hon Abubakar Dan Lawal will chair the Western Zone.
