Sallah: PDP seeks support for Buhari

THE National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Nigerians to pray for and support President Muhammadu Buhari to enable him to deliver on his electoral promises.

In its Sallah message issued on Wednesday, in Abuja, by the interim National Publicity Secretary of the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the opposition party invited “all Nigerians to join hands with the Buhari-led Federal Government, to deliver on his campaign promises by giving the people the desired dividends of democracy as promised.”

The party urged Nigerians to pray for its leaders “to be divinely guided in piloting the affairs of the nation, especially at these trying times.”

It cautioned the ruling class “to desist from actions and inactions that tend to divide the nation and threaten its unity.”

The PDP noted that the occasion of Eid El-Fitr should be utilised for self-reflection, adding that “only in oneness we can surmount our differences and move on to greater height.”

The Ahmed Makarfi-led PDP, on behalf of the entire members of the PDP, called on Nigerians to use the occasion to reflect on various sermons received during the Ramadan to pray for peace and unity in Nigeria and to imbibe all the lessons learnt beyond the Sallah celebration.

The party urged all Nigerians, irrespective of their religion, to eschew all forms of bitterness, saying: “As a party, we wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters happy Eid El-Fitr and urge them to use this period to reflect on the virtue of faith, service and total submission to the will of the Almighty God as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Mohammed.”
