National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu, on Tuesday, held a closed-door meeting with former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) at his Uphill residence in Minna.
Dr Ayu who flew into Minna by air at about 1:00 pm was accompanied by a former Governor of the state and a member of the party’s Board of Trustees, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu; PDP state chairman, Tanko Beji; a former Senator from Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye; a former Minister of Information, Prof Jerry Gana and some. top state executive members of the party.
Also on the entourage to the visit on General Babangida was Senator Zaynab Kure and a former Minister of Internal Affairs.

Senator Ayu and General Babangida later met behind closed doors.
A source close to the parley informed Nigeria Tribune that the meeting centred on the zoning of the presidency ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
The source said the meeting agreed that the issue of zoning should be suspended for now to allow all those interested to campaign and mobilize Nigerians after which a decision will be taken.
It was also learnt that the meeting agreed that the steps of the All Progressives Party (APC) should be “closely watched” before a decision is taken.
