The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Osun State chapter has nominated Mr. Tope Mustapha Adeyemi, who is the chairman of the state’s Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) as the most outstanding public administrator of the year (2024) in the state.
Mr. Adeyemi will be formally honoured with the award during the Press Week event for the year in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Thursday, October 30th.
A nomination letter addressed to Adeyemi and co-signed by both NUJ’s chairman, Wasiu Ajadosu and Secretary Adeyemi Aboderin, stated that “You are unanimously nominated by our congress in August 2024 as a result of your administrative acumen which has turned around the fortune of Osun TESCOM within two years of your assumption of office. And we believe that the award will further spur you for more service to the state and the humanity in general.’
Adeyemi, an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was appointed into his current role by the governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke in 2023.
In his remarks, Adeyemi expressed delight at the recognition, saying he didn’t know anybody, let alone the media was watching him and his team in the service of the state.
He stated that the award was the outcome of teamwork and not that of his effort alone, pledging to dedicate the award to Governor Adeleke for providing him with the platform to serve the state in the capacity he is.
He said he would ensure he remains committed to the mandate of Osun TESCOM for the secondary school teachers in the state.
