OPay, through its Clean Future Project, in partnership with the Dolly Children Foundation (DCF), has constructed a four-unit toilet facility at the Ebenezer Grammar School, Iberekodo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The inspection and commissioning of the facility last Thursday were witnessed by representatives of the Ogun State Ministry of Education, school administrators, teachers, students, community leaders, volunteers, and development partners.
The partners stated the project was a response to the challenges faced by many public schools in underserved communities, where inadequate sanitation infrastructure can affect students’ health, attendance, and overall learning experience.
They added that the toilet facility is not only “gender-sensitive” but is also designed to provide access to hygienic and dignified sanitation facilities.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager of OPay Digital Services Limited, Mr Itoro Udo, said that the project reflects OPay’s commitment to creating value beyond financial services.
Udo stressed that education is the foundation of a brighter future, yet many children still face barriers to quality learning.
He noted that the project was also designed to encourage behavioural change that can have a lasting impact within the school and the wider community.
“Through the OPay Clean Future Project, we are improving sanitation, supporting education, and ensuring more students have the opportunity to learn in a safe and dignified environment,” he said.
The Founder and Executive Director of Dolly Children Foundation, Adedolapo Osuntuyi, stated that since the inception of the foundation, they have impacted more than 25,000 children across 29 underserved communities.
Osuntuyi said every child deserves access to a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment, adding that “the project addresses a critical sanitation need while promoting environmental responsibility and helping students reach their full potential”.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Alajogun Latifat, described the intervention as a strategic partnership in improving learning environments and promoting responsible citizenship.
The Principal of Senior School, Ebenezer Grammar School, Mr Adebayo Shogbiyeju, appreciated the foundation’s founder, Adedolapo Osuntuyi, whom he once taught as a physics student.
“It is inspiring to see a former student return to create positive change within her community. Adedolapo Osuntuyi’s journey is a testament to the power of education, vision, and purpose, and an example for our students to emulate,” the principal said.
One of the students, on behalf of the students’ body, said the project taught them the importance of cleanliness and caring for the environment, adding, “I am grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to making my school and community better.”
At the event, the students received educational and hygiene materials, while outstanding learners were recognised with school bags, sandals, and other learning resources.
