The Special Adviser to the President on Media, Mr Femi Adesina, who disclosed this in Abuja while addressing mammoth crowd who staged a walk protest in support of President Buhari, said the Federal Government has noticed that some people were making several efforts to create ethnic cleavages in the country.
Mr Adesina, who addressed the crowd alongside the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said “on behalf of the Presidency, I want to express our thanks and appreciation to people from the Niger Delta and I can see from the banners you are holding, from the placards you cut across different areas from the Niger Delta. I have seen Istekiri, Ijaw, Ogoni, Uhrobo, Usoko and many others.
“This is very good, it shows that Nigeria will remain one country because what we have noticed is that some people had made efforts to create ethnic cleavages in this country but what we have done today has reinforced our faith that Nigeria will remain one.
“I want to thank you because you have shown your faith and trust in the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari that indeed is a leadership we can trust, that is the leadership you know will not take us for a ride, it is a leadership that will not steal our money, that is the leadership will do the best for the country.
“The message will get to the appropriate quarters, the president himself will get to see this, because just over the weekend, we were with him in London and he told us that he has been following events at home very keenly so he will see this later today and we want to thank you very much and urge you to keep this spirit of patriotism. This is our country we have no other one whatever we make of it is what we will get”, he stressed.
