The Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the introduction of the first black beer, Goldberg Black, into Nigeria’s alcoholic beverages market.
Unveiling the offering to the media in Lagos at the weekend, the company’s Corporate Affairs Director, Mrs Sade Morgan, stated that the decision to come up with the new product is to refresh the market segment and take the brand’s consumers along on its journey into the modern world.
She noted that the Goldberg Black beer, the first in the market segment in Nigeria, embodies the three elements of culture, innovation and modernity.
Morgan said the new offering was achieved by the company through dedication, creative exploration and an commitment to delivering a product that stands as testament to Nigeria’s rich heritage.
“The Goldberg Black Lager is not just a beer. It is a celebration of our root, our culture and the very proud craftsmanship of our people. It is to show that Nigerians are one of the most creative people on this earth,” she stated.
Assuring consumers of a quality experience with the brand, the Portfolio Manager, Mainstream, NB Plc, Ita Bassey, described the new offering as a melting pot of culture and tradition.
He explained that the new beer still shares the central Omoluabi theme with the mother brand, the Goldberg lager beer.
“Goldberg Black Lager Beer comes from Goldberg Beer. The Omoluabi central theme is across the two brands. Omoluabi is about respect; respect for the culture and for the craftsmanship that goes into its making.”
