A man, Wole Adeogun has approached Grade A Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, praying it to end his relationship with his wife, Moji on the grounds of lack of love and constant fight.
Wole stated that he no longer enjoyed his marriage because their relationship lacked love, and they were not also blessed with children.
According to him, his once loving and caring wife suddenly turned to a bitch and made his life miserable.
The plaintiff in addition to divorce pleaded for an order restraining his wife from threatening and prying into his private life.
Moji denied all that her husband said about her and asked the court not to dissolve their union.
Wole stated in his evidence that, “Moji has given me hell enough. I would not have married her if I knew she was a troublesome woman. She killed my dream of a beautiful and blissful marriage.
“She has also made the love I had for her to wane.
“My wife is unruly and always disagrees with me on almost every issue. She gets me unnecessarily worked up due to the regular misunderstandings between us, thus causing crises in our home.
“The more I made efforts at making her see reason, the worst she became. I thus gave up on her.
“Our marriage of almost two decades is without children which is a lot of concern to me. It saddens my heart.
“I believe it was time to go our different ways. She is free to try another man.
“My lord, in addition to my prayer of divorce, I humbly request that the court give an order restraining my wife from threatening or prying into my private life.”
Moji, while responding, said, “I agreed to marry my husband because I loved him, even though he did not pay my bride price.
“My husband has painted me black because he wants me out of his house.
“He knows that I am not barren. I once had a child for him who later died.
“My husband is an ingrate. I stood by him through thick and thin, but he decided to drag me to court for divorce.
“We sought the help of different men of God and traditionalists and we were made to do some horrible things in the name of carrying out rituals.
“He came home one day and to my chagrin ordered that I move out of his house.
“I do not want to divorce my husband. I, therefore, pray the court not to answer his prayers.”
