Borno Governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, has convened a meeting with the State Minimum Wage Implementation Committee during which he directed that Civil Servants be paid the new national wage at the end of October 2024.

The meeting was held in Maiduguri on Monday at the Council Chambers of the Governor’s Office in the Government House.

In the meantime, the Governor has approved the release of N3 billion for the payment of entitlements to families of Civil Servants that died in Borno.

The Governor made a symbolic cheque presentation to the Nigerian Union of Pensioners.

Babagana Zulum also assured that he would clear the backlog of gratuities owed and ensure an upward review of monthly payments of pensions in the state.
