THE various ministries, departments and agencies of the Anambra State Government, today, commenced the defence of their budgets for the fiscal year 2018 at different public hearings of the Anambra State House of Assembly, in Awka.
A timetable made available to Tribune Newspaper, last Tuesday, indicated that the budget defence is in line with the provisions of the law and in keeping with the House of Assembly’s desire to avail the public opportunity to make their inputs into the configuration of the 2018 state budget before its passage by the House.
The detailed timetable shows that the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners, Deputy Governor’s Office, State and Local Government Audit, Anambra State Internal Revenue Services, Office of the State Bureau of Statistics, Office of the Head of Service, Ministry of Health/State Hospital Management Board, Governor’s Office, Volunteer Service Agency, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Ministry of Environment.

Ecology/Anambra State Management Agency, Ministry of Women Affairs, will defend their allocations at the Committee Room 1 by 9:30 am, while the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Science, and Technology, Ministry Trade, Commerce, Markets and Wealth Creation, Ministry of Power and Domestic Water Development, Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Renewal, Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism will take their turn at the Committee Room 2 at the same time Others include, Ministry of Lands, Physical Planning and Rural Development, Physical Planning Board, Ministry of Information and Communication Strategy.
Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Justice, Judicial Service Commission/High Court of Justice/Customary Court of Appeal, Legislature, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth Development, will as well defend their budgets at the Committee Room 3 by 2 pm simultaneously.
