The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Employment, Labour and Productivity & Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs, who is also the Senator representing Plateau Central of Plateau, Senator Diket Plang, has hailed the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, affirming President Bola Tinubu as a valid winner of the 2023 presidential election.

Even as the federal lawmaker congratulated the president for his 100 days in office, he said that the 100 days were a testimony of his determination and passion for the growth of Nigeria.

Senator Plang, in a signed statement, described the victory at the tribunal as a fair deal for the people of Nigeria and the beginning of a new dawn towards rejuvenating the Nigerian economy and good governance.

According to him, the verdict was a welcome development and confirmation that the victory of the APC in the last presidential election was not a fluke but an acceptance of the party and its presidential candidate by the electorate, who trooped out en masse in the February 25th presidential election to exercise their franchise.

He said the party has been vindicated by the verdict and called on all APC members and Nigerians to remain law-abiding and team up with the administration of President Bola Ahmed to reposition the country towards greater heights.

“The momentous ruling is a triumph for democracy and the will of the good people of Nigeria. The judiciary has lived up to expectations as the bastion of democracy and the rule of law. Therefore, I congratulate His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC family, and the good people of Nigeria over the ruling.

“Also, I must commend the courage and sagacity exhibited by the five-man panel of the Tribunal. The judgment has further restored the confidence of Nigerians in the institution of the judiciary and their strong belief that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.

“Let’s all put this 2023 presidential election behind us, join hands, and build the virile, prosperous, and peaceful Nigeria of our dreams with President Tinubu,” he pleaded.

He added that his 100 days in office are typified by his seriousness and determination to address the multitude of challenges besetting the country and therefore urge Nigerians to cooperate with the APC-led administration in taking the country to the next level.
