Budding Nigerian rapper, Opeyemi Lawal, better known as Labzy Lawal returns to the industry with a brand new Jamz ‘Mix It’ featuring Omo Yi crooner, Tjan. Signed to ‘Righteous Works’ records, Labzy kicked off his musical desire in 2006 and got his first headway with a trending song ‘Zombie’ remix by Fela Kuti in 2009 but was later banned due to rights issues.
Not relenting, Labzy, a graduate of Botany from the University of Lagos resurfaced in 2011 with ‘Let Me In’ and ‘Takeaway’ featuring Orezi which trended on musical charts. He later dropped the ‘Solidarity EP’ which was released in 2012.
Shortly after this, Labzy went on a hiatus due to the fact that he had to focus and finish school which he did in 2014. He then dropped another EP in 2016 but had some promotional challenges with it which also had adverse effects on the sophomore singles he dropped after the EP in 2017. Now with a better and more strategic team, Labzy is back on the scene with a new single ‘Mix it’ feat Tjan scheduled for release on February 6, 2018.
With a management deal with ‘Kbee promo world’, led by Fowosere Idris Adekunbi, Labzy insists he is one rapper look out for.
