Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, directed immediate action on the issuance of appointment letters to newly recruited teachers in the state.
During a recent meeting with the State Executive Council in Osogbo, the governor explained that the delay was due to “last month being a very busy and turbulent time, during which we faced the misuse of federal power by security services, as well as judicial challenges.”
He emphasized that all efforts by detractors to distract his administration from providing good governance to the people of Osun have failed.
The governor urged cabinet members to continue adhering to due process and commended them for standing firm against the challenges that sought to derail the government’s agenda.
“Let me remind us that the desperate opposition forces are still lurking in the dark. We must remain eternally vigilant.
“We must never succumb to the plot to distract us. We should continue to deliver on the five-point agenda of this administration. We must complete all ongoing projects and launch new ones to spread democratic dividends to all corners of our state.
“By tomorrow, I will unveil our 2025 infra project implementation plan and timelines. From there, we are to commence statewide inspections and even commissioning of ongoing and completed infra projects.
“We have the upper hand, and we must forge ahead without any weakness”, the governor asserted.
The Governor recalled recent unfortunate events in the state and vowed that he would not be swayed from the path of selfless service to Osun people.
“A vicious, anti-democratic campaign was launched against our government. Osun was under siege in a manner nobody ever envisaged.
“But we survived the evil and offensive onslaught. We overcame forces of darkness that sought to impose anarchy on us. Our adversaries failed in their bid to plunge Osun into a killing field. With divine wisdom and the mass support of our people, we retain and even consolidate our hold on the state.
“The local government election was successfully conducted, and the democratically elected administration was sworn in. A strong legal campaign is ongoing to eject illegal invaders of our local governments”, the Governor told the cabinet members.
He informed the cabinet that the administration has also taken major steps to hold accountable officials of the previous administration, noting that “the public is awash with infractions and procurement corruptions witnessed under the last government.
He urged cabinet members to continue to pay attention to due process even as he commended all members of government for rising against the dark forces that sought to derail our administration.
