For every successful artiste, who managed to become a household name in the highly competitive Nigerian music industry, there is a story of rising from grass to grace. And if one looks at the rise to fame story of alternative music crooner, Adekunle Gold, the singer ticks all the boxes.
The award-winning alternative singer has become famous for his songs but that was not how he started off at the record label which launched his career, Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Records.
The artiste who is now married to fellow singer and songwriter, Simi Ogunleye simply known as Simi, started out at YBNL as a creative designer, designing covers for songs and albums produced by record label.
It was however his musical talent that would spur him to stardom. The artiste who has no less than two albums to his name is one of the most highly rated musicians and songwriters in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Having toured the world with his brand of music and winning several awards to his name, the artiste once again acknowledged the impact of music on his life.
“Music changed my life,” Adekunle wrote on Twitter.
