Horse riders have allegedly killed two elderly brothers in Kano who were riding on a motorcycle along Sokoto Road.
The horses, while being ridden, trampled Inuwa Sani and Abdurrahaman Sani, who were residents of Yakasai quarters last Saturday.
However, the siblings’ mother, Rukayya Ali said her sons were killed on their way to greet her.
She said each of the deceased was survived by a wife and six children.
The Kano State police spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa has confirmed the incident.
According to the police spokesman, it accused one Sadiq Adamu, 22, and seven of his friends of planning the horse ride.
He, however, disclosed that the police have arrested two of the suspects who will be arraigned after investigation.
It could be recalled that the Kano Emirate has banned horse riding in Kano metropolis due to the several cases of killings and wounding of road users by riders.
