Popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, has congratulated Irish chef, Alan Fisher, who recently dethroned her to become the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking hours by an individual.
Tribune Online reports that Fisher, an owner of a restaurant in Japan, broke Hilda Baci’s record for the longest cooking marathon (individual) after cooking for 119 hours and 57 minutes.
Announcing the development on X, Guinness World Records, through its official account, tweeted, “Nigerian cooking queen Hilda Baci has been dethroned 😳”
“Alan has claimed the longest cooking marathon (individual) after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. That is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.”
Reacting to the development on her verified X account on Tuesday, Hilda Baci, who previously held the record with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes, congratulated Fisher on his success.
While wishing him all the best as the new record holder for cooking marathons, she described the new record set by the Irish chef as a huge achievement.
She wrote, “Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.”
