A grandmother has been arrested over allegations of killing her newborn grandchild in Ogombo, Ajah, Lagos State.
Reports indicated that the grandmother went to great lengths to conceal her 16-year-old daughter’s pregnancy, Favour, despite confirmation from medical tests.
When Favour gave birth on Saturday, the grandmother allegedly took the newborn and repeatedly struck the baby’s head with a shovel before burying the infant.

In a video shared online, a distraught Favour recounts the horrifying incident. The grandmother’s arrest has left Favour, still vulnerable and in need of medical care, to cope with the aftermath alone.
