An Akure High Court, in Ondo state, has ordered the remand of four students of Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo town, who allegedly gang-raped and recorded the raping of a female student of the institution in prison.

The four students, Akinola Timilehin, Olagbaju Tobi, Adeyemi Adebisi and Adetunji Olakunle were charged before the court on a two count of conspiracy and rape.

According to the charge read to the defendants, which stated that the crime was contrary to section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol 1, laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The four accused were alleged to have had unlawful sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent and also threatened to kill her with charm.

The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty’ plea when the charge preferred against them was read to them.

The Prosecution led by Mrs Stella Adegoke, told the court that the four defendants raped their victim along with one other man who is now at large.

She explained that one of the defendants, Akinola Timilehin took the lady to his friend’s house where she was later gang-raped by the defendants, saying the victim was forced to eat after she complained of tiredness.

Adegoke however tendered before the court an Infinix Hot 4 phone which belonged to one of the accused person, Adetuyi Olakunle, which was used to record the incident.

The Presiding Judge, Justice S.A Bola, however, adjourned the sitting till 20th June 2018 for the adoption of written addresses.
