Towards digitization of governance operations in Ogun State, the state government has trained cabinet members and other top government functionaries on the use of Smart Mail Technology.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Information and Communication Technology, Mr Dayo Abiodun, on Wednesday, at Ogun TechHUB centre, along Kobape road, Abeokuta.
He said the training was aimed to increase the use of ICT, to create enabling environment for governance.
The governor’s aide added that the training was not meant only for political appointees, submitting that workers in the State Civil Service across different levels would also be trained for productivity, service delivery in order to build capacity.
The training facilitator, Mr Ayomikun Akinbode while speaking in an interview, affirmed the readiness of the trained Commissioners to effectively use the smart mail technology saying they had shown exceptional interest and practical knowledge during the training.

He noted that the training which centres on the use of Smart Mail Technology for effective administrative operations would go a long way to ease the bottlenecks often experienced with the present filing system in the civil service
In their separate responses, the Commissioners for Environment, Hon. Abudu Balogun, Culture and Tourism, Dr Oluwatoyin Taiwo and that of Budget and Planning, Mr Olaolu Olabimtan said the training was quite educative and enlightening adding that it would make their operations better.
