As the COVID-19 pandemic case management in Bauchi state increases, 8 additional patients have recovered having undergone for the second test and they have been discharged from isolation centre.
This development indicates another milestone in both surveillance, rapid response and case management processes which have now brought the total number of discharges to 164 as of Saturday, 23nd May 2020.
Also, 2 new confirmed cases also were reported according to the results of the returning samples, however, the current results have put statistics of the Case Fatality Rate at 2.2%.
In summary, the increasing progress in discharges clearly shows the State’s Pillers strenuous pro-activeness against this fight on the COVID-19 which actually turning out progressive.

So far, only 63 patients are still on hospital admission and have been adequately subjected to medical care bringing The state’s total confirmed cases at 232.
In his reaction to the development, Executive Chairman of Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BASPHCDA), Dr Rilwanu Mohammed commended the frontline health workers and other supporting workers for working assiduously in ensuring that the treatment protocol was professionally followed.
Rilwanu Mohammed added that the State government has put everything required for case management in place to ensure that every case management proscribed by NCDC was applied.
He assured that the testing centre by the state is nearing completion which he said will ease the present hardship facing sample testing particularly for the second test that leads to discharge.
