PARISH Priest of Saint Augustine Catholic Church in Ombi, Lafia, Nasarawa State, Reverend Father Igene Japhet-Dannis, has enjoined Nigerians to be ambassadors of peace in order to promote a peaceful nation.

The cleric made the call during a sermon where he spoke on the importance of emulating Jesus’ teachings of being the ‘light and salt’ of the world.

According to him, Christians should never be a reference point for corruption, mischief, vices or negative actions among family members, colleagues, and even the congregation, adding that this could breach peace.

“How can you claim to be a Christian when all you know how to do is to steal, cause problems, and ensure that people do not find peace in your houses, offices, and in the community?

“As Christians, you must love unconditionally and be upright, to show good example at all times as our Lord Jesus Christ told us.

“Just like the biblical teachings, Christians must continue to maintain and sustain their roles as salt and light of the world,” he said

He noted that Christians ought to make positive impacts in their homes, churches, offices, and communities so as to earn the trust of society.

He consequently urged Christian faithful to desist from vices like money rituals, human trafficking, among other vices, and prioritise productivity.

“There should always be happiness, peace, and laughter around you because that is what you represent,” he said
