The Agbaakin who was once a press secretary to four governors who was also the guest lecturer spoke extensively on loyalty and professionalism using his experience at the Oduduwa Investment Company as an instance and also adding the fact that they must all respect the job and their seniors.
He implored all PRO’s to join the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations saying “The younger generation should not say that the older ones are out of date, move closer to the elder forum of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations because you can never buy experience.
“Also, don’t be a fire brigade PRO that they will push to the public when the damage is done.
“Leave your job when the ovation is the loudest and let your management never do without you.”
The Commissioner for Information, culture and tourism, Honourable Toye Arulogun also added that “Public Relation is not sending out press releases, every story must have a traction. You are in an advisory capacity to your principal.
“To be effective and powerful, you have to be courageous. Also, know when to react and respond to situations.”
The event which had in attendance the Assistant Director of news of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Mr Femi Johnson, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu and others.
It also featured a drama which showcased the reenactment of an inaugural meeting at Oodua Investment Company which happened on February 21, 1997.
