Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25 presidential election, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku said his battle against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in the country’s general interest.
Addressing a world press conference in Abuja, Atiku said, the battle against the qualifications of Tinubu for the presidency was specifically aimed at installing good governance, accountability and probity in public service.
The PDP presidential candidate, accompanied to the press conference by former state governors and PDP chieftains, vowed to fight the battle to a logical conclusion.
He appealed to the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, and that of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Rabiu Musa Kwankasso to join him in the struggle to enthrone legitimate and lawful government for the country.
Atiku insisted that the nation needs a legitimate government in the interest of future generations, adding that Nigeria is bigger than any individual.
The former Vice President called on well-meaning Nigerians to join the struggle, saying, leaders have to advance the well-being of the people during this trying period.
