The leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), led by the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has ordained a total number of 2,231 full-time pastors, 4,726 assistant pastors, and 10,806 deacons and deaconesses at the just concluded 69th edition annual convention of the church.
The weeklong programme with the theme, “A New Wave Of Glory”, kicked off on August 2 with the Adeboye leading thousands of church ministers in a prayer walk as a form of spiritual exercise in preparation for the weeklong programme.
The ordination, which is one of the main highlights of the weeklong programme had thousands of people occupy the position of ministers in the church, while both male and female ministers were elevated to assistant and full-time pastors through an ordination service.
The popular cleric alongside his wife Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye as well as other top ministers of the church anointed the newly ordained ministers.
Adeboye also congratulated all the graduates and newly ordained clerics, adding, “I congratulate all graduates of the Redeemed Christian Bible College as well as the children of God who ordained as full pastors in the mission. We pray that God Almighty grants you the wisdom and anointing for the next level in Jesus’ name.”
According to the church, the newly ordained ministers are expected to help the pastorate in its quest to move the Church forward to greater heights of glory.
A statement obtained by Tribune Online, from the office of Continental Overseer, Administration, and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, on Saturday, confirmed that the figure of the newly ordained deacons and deaconesses as well as the assistant
pastors were part of the effort to expand the workforce of the fast-growing church.
The convention, which has been widely described as the first-ever hybrid event, ends today with a thanksgiving service.
