American-based Nigerian singer, popularly known as Tomi Favored, has urged gospel music ministers to consistently release Godly sounds in a time like this, when the country is going through a lot of challenges.

She noted that it simply means they are doing what they were being called to do, saying that sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest good news the world can hear, especially in times of crises.

The talented music minister made this call in a recent chat with journalists while speaking on one of her initiatives known as B.O.W, an acronym for “Bringing Our Worship.”

The unique initiative birthed by Tomi Favored and her husband, Seyi Alesh in a transformative concept is aimed to create a setting where worship is not merely observed but intentionally participated in. Comprising elements of spoken word and sung music, B.O.W seeks to turn the audience into a collective choir, Bringing Our Worship to the Lord Jesus.

The visionary couple started B.O.W as a worship experience, offering people a space to freely worship outside the conventional constraints of a church service. The inaugural B.O.W event took place in Dallas, Texas, in 2016, marking the beginning of a movement that has since resonated with worshipers globally.

Targeting a diverse audience, B.O.W welcomes individuals of all ages with a heart for God and a desire to engage in communal worship, while the founders, Tomi Favored and Seyi Alesh, aspire to incorporate worship that resonates with people in their native languages.

Speaking on what sets B.O.W apart from regular ministrations, Tomi Favored noted that its the  non-denominational origin. Unlike traditional church services, B.O.W operates dynamically without specific constraints, allowing for a more fluid and inclusive worship experience. “The choice of venue for each B.O.W event is carefully considered, based on anticipated local involvement and logistical requirements. “That is what informed the choice of hosting the last few  ‘BOW’ in places like the Lagos popular market, the Computer Village themed; ‘ Nigeria BOW Market Place as well as BOW Lagos, and BOW Toronto.

“Initially, a personal vision, the B.O.W initiative has evolved into a collaborative effort. Various individuals and organizations, from fellow music artists to church groups, have supported the vision financially, with practical resources, and by volunteering their time and talents.”

Looking ahead to the new year, fans of B.O.W have been urged to anticipate a range of projects as Tomi Favored promise new music releases, collaborations with other artistes.

“People can expect new music projects and musical collaboration with other artistes, more Godly content on social media, more short writings that may end up in a third book, more live online interaction, and of course more physical events from B.O.W to invited ministrations in music and itinerant speaking.“

Reflecting on the role of gospel music ministers in times of crisis, Tomi Favored also emphasised on the importance of consistent release of Godly sounds into the atmosphere.

She added, “Gospel music ministers are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ and bring hope, joy, and peace through their music. As vessels of worship, they serve upward in adoration, laterally by encouraging others, and downward by declaring the dominion of Jesus Christ over darkness.
